Cabbage Unearthed!

Cabbage

Your cabbage came to us from Hallar & Green in Bunnell, less than 100 miles from most of our customers’ homes.

Cabbage encounters are most frequently a slaw experience. Mounded atop barbecue pork, herded into tiny plastic takeout cups and gently perched on picnic plates, if you’re down South, you’re sure to see some slaw! As refreshing and delicious as it is in its creamy, shredded form, cabbage has more to offer! With our recipes this week, we’re hoping you’ll consider putting the heat to this versatile head. With zero fat and a low calorie count, this veggie is among the most beneficial to your winter body. High in vitamins C and K, it also has plenty of fiber to fill you up without weighing you down.

If you’d like to wait to cook, wrap your cabbage head in plastic and store it in the crisper drawer. If you dry it off and wrap it tightly, your cabbage could last for weeks – but we hope that it won’t last long after we turn you on to the many ways to turn up the heat on this tasty veggie!

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!

Returning your produce box clean and undamaged means that we can use it again and again. This keeps costs down, minimizes landfill waste and keeps your carbon footprint smaller. Boxes that aren’t returned will incur a $5.00 replacement fee, so be sure to put it out for pickup!
