Loving the Cooler Weather

The cooler weather is perfect for the fall produce. As you know, we were in between seasons and it was bit sparse in the fields for the last weeks. We are excited to see green beans and black eyed peas this week! Broccoli, root veggies, leafy greens and lettuce is right around the corner. My favorite, however, is the Zellwood Sweet Corn grown by Long & Scott Farms in Mount Dora, FL. At Long & Scott Farms, they run their business according to the idea “The farmer is the original environmentalist.” They produce quality produce by growing hybrid seed varieties for higher yields (No GMO’s!), practice integrated pest management, intense scouting of crops, and utilize beneficial insects to reduce pest damange. The best part — biting into the sweet corn!

It’s a Spooky Good Time of the Year!

Here at FPP we are getting into the Halloween spirit with a new seasonal Ghost Roast Coffee to keep us warm and fun activities at the farm!
