Be In the Know!

Our customers are always amazing us with the clever ways they utilize their produce and interact with us. We’re pleased to hear so often that you like what you’re getting and love how you feel now that you’re eating truly fresh local produce! We want to be 100% certain you have the best experience possible with The Veggie Bin, so we’d like to remind you of a few of our terms of service to be SURE you’re always satisfied.

  1. Business/Office Delivery/Pick Up Locations
Bins delivered to commercial locations must be picked up during the set times designated on our website. Unfortunately, due to health and safety rules our gracious hosts cannot keep bins overnight so they will be discarded or donated without refund if not picked up.
  2. Suspending Deliveries? Not a Problem!
If you need to pause your service temporarily, please contact info@theveggiebin.comby noon on Monday prior to your delivery to avoid being charged. Your next month’s invoice will be credited. Cancellations after noon on Monday are not refunded.
  3. We Re-Use & Recycle Our Bins
We’re dedicated to keeping it green! Please leave the previous week’s boxes out on your delivery day so we can reuse them the following week. Office or business deliveries should leave empty boxes at delivery location. There is a $5.00 fee for boxes not returned.
  4. Last BUT Never Least… Satisfaction Guaranteed
We stand behind our products! If you receive an item that is not unacceptable, please call or email within 12 hours of delivery to let us know. We will replace the item on the following delivery with the same or similar produce item depending on availability. Please remember that we are doing our best to provide you organic and pesticide-free produce. Your produce will arrive unwashed and (RARELY!) you may find an insect. If you are concerned about pests or wilting after delivery, we invite you to set out a cooler at your delivery spot.

We hope you’ll take a little refresher look at our terms of service. It should answer any further questions you might have. We won’t hide our terms of service behind tiny print – we want our customers to be informed and satisfied! Transparency is important to us and helps us serve you better!

Cubanelle Peppers Unearthed!

The cubanelle pepper has a little something for everyone! It’s classified as a sweet pepper, but has a mild to moderate spicy kick. It’s perfect for stuffing or pizza topping and plays well in many recipes from the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. If you’re shy about the heat, be sure to remove the seeds and membranes, which will cut the heat considerably. If you choose to de-seed, you may want to wear gloves, as the spicy oils can stick to skin and make their way to eyes and mouths!
This is a great gateway pepper for those unsure about turning up the heat in dishes. We’ll give you some ideas that we hope will make you want to use them ASAP, but you’ll want to stash your peppers in a paper or plastic bag between paper towels for up to 5 days in the refrigerator. Like other peppers, when they start wrinkling, they have lost their crisp crunch.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!

Returning your bin clean and undamaged means that we can use it again and again. This keeps costs down, minimizes landfill waste and keeps your carbon footprint smaller. Bins that aren’t returned will incur a replacement fee, so be sure to put it out for pickup!
